A Poetry Force Field Coming This Spring

Force Field cover

WOWZERS!!! Check out the awesome cover art for FORCE FIELD: 77 Women Poets of British Columbia – an EPIC anthology from Mother Tongue Publishing, launching April 13 at Vancouver Public Library at 3:00 pm, right smack in the middle of National Poetry Month. Does it get any sweeter?

Well yes it does… You can also join us for the after-party at the Railway Club (private back room) same day, 5:00-8:00 pm.

This anthology is edited by Susan Musgrave and exquisitely designed and produced by Mother Tongue Publishing. And the fantastic cover photo is by Birgit Freybe Bateman of Salt Spring Island.

For full details and to order, visit the publisher’s website:

This is the first anthology of BC women poets in 34 years! Not since Dorothy Livesay’s Women’s Eye: 12 BC Women Poets (AIR Press, 1974) and D’Sonoqua: An Anthology of Women Poets of British Columbia, edited by Ingrid Klassen (Intermedia Press, 1979) has there been an anthology of contemporary BC women poets. So prepare yourself for some jolts from Anima herself when FORCE FIELD hits the planet this spring.

FORCE FIELD is a bold celebration of women’s voices, from emerging to established. Here is the complete list:

Maleea Acker, Joanne Arnott, Elizabeth Bachinsky, Jacqueline Baldwin, Michelle Barker, Rhonda Batchelor, Yvonne Blomer, Leanne Boschman, Fran Bourassa, Marilyn Bowering, Kate Braid, Connie Braun, Margo Button, Anne Cameron, Marlene Cookshaw, Judith Copithorne, Susan Cormier, Lorna Crozier, Jen Currin, Daniela Elza, Cathy Ford, Carla Funk, Maxine Gadd, Rhonda Ganz, Elee Kraljii Gardiner, Heidi Garnett, Lakshmi Gill, Kim Goldberg, Alisa Gordaneer, Heidi Greco, Karen Hofmann, Leah Horlick, Diana Hartog, Heather Haley, Joelene Heathcote, Diana Hayes, Aislinn Hunter, Gillian Jerome, Elena E.
