Here are some of the upcoming Idle No More rallies I am aware of on Vancouver Island. My thanks to Paul Manly for keeping a large number of us up to date on all that’s happening with Idle No More locally:
Saturday Feb 2nd at Woodgrove Mall, Snaw Naw As territory, Nanaimo at 1:00 pm: round dances and leafleting.
Sunday Feb 3rd in Cowichan (Duncan) at 1:00 pm: Old Mound & March to Q.C.C. Meet at the parking lot on the corner of Trunk and River Rd. (The old Mound area next to rail road tracks).
Monday Feb 11th in Snuneymuxw territory (Nanaimo) from 2:00-5:00 pm at Departure Bay terminal for BC Ferries: This will be a rally and an information picket. Ferry passengers will not be blocked but everyone will be given information to read as they enter the terminal.
The key goal of these rallies is to spread information and educate people. Idle No More gatherings offer a chance to stand in solidarity and get to know our neighbours.
And here are a few of my photos from the January 12 Idle No More rally and march through downtown Nanaimo, Snuneymuxw territory, to the Port Authority, in part to protest against the Port Authority’s privatization of our public wharf.

Thanks for the information – I would like to know when and where future demonstrations we occur in the Nanaimo or Lady Smith area ???
Me too! I rarely find out in advance. But when I do, will post the info here on my blog. 😉
