Roaming Poets in the Park

Roaming Poets in the ParkFour local poets will be celebrating Earth Day weekend and National Poetry Month at Nanaimo’s Maffeo Sutton Park. And there’s room for you at the open mic. Or just drop on by and listen.

David Fraser, Kim Clark, Pat Smekal and Kim Goldberg will be laying down some earthy rhymes for you on Sunday, April 21 from 1:30-3:30 pm. We’ll be set up near Spirit Square and the public washroom at Nanaimo’s favourite seaside park.

Bring a poem of your own to share at the mic. Or just come by for a listen. Everybody is welcome at this free event.

April is National Poetry Month, and this event is sponsored by the League of Canadian Poets and the Canada Council for the Arts.
