Here are my Nanaimo photos from today’s worldwide March Against Monsanto (October 12, 2013).
Local marchers arrived at Maffeo Sutton Park on Nanaimo’s waterfront at 2:00 pm where various speakers presented information on the risks of food made from Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) such as Monsanto’s RoundUp-Ready corn, soy, canola, and sugar beets.
Take Action
1. Demand mandatory labeling of GMO products. 2. Ask your grocer to provide labeled shelf areas for non-GMO products. 3. Demand that GMO companies release their studies and allow independent verification of the results. ~Public Film
On Wednesday, October 16 (2013) there will be a public screening of the documentary film King Corn in Nanaimo at 7:00 pm at Pacific Gardens Co-Housing, 347 7th Street.

Kim! We marched in the Okanagan!
Thank-you for this post.
March Against Monsanto
Awesome! I think there were good turnouts everywhere.
Activating the activist is such a good feeling!
Loved seeing little children involved… Soon they will be adults with more awareness, more than I ever had as a child 🙂
