This book is a collection of 66 poems structured around the 66-move sequence of Liuhebafa, a 1,000-year-old martial art from China that I have been studying since 1997. According to legend and Taoist practice, Liuhebafa is considered to be a recipe for internal alchemy and even immortality. In addition to poems, Ride Backwards on Dragon contains 30 pages of endnotes decoding the Taoist metaphysical symbolism of the 66 ancient titles – information never before published in English.  The book was a finalist for Canada’s Gerald Lampert Award.
