BIO:
Kim Goldberg is an award-winning poet, journalist and author living in Nanaimo, British Columbia. She is the author of eight full-length books of poetry and non-fiction, as well as the creator of numerous hand-built books and book-art objects. Her Red Zone collection of poems about urban homelessness has been taught in university literature courses. Her previous collection, Ride Backwards on Dragon, was a finalist for Canada’s Gerald Lampert Award. Her 2016 book, Undetectable, chronicles her journey with Hepatitis C using haibun poetry. Her most recent book, Devolution, was described as a “ferocious collection” by the Vnacouver Sun. Her poetry and speculative short fiction have appeared in magazines and anthologies around the world. As an issue-oriented journalist specializing in environmental topics, social justice, militarism, and media ownership, Kim has had more than 2,000 articles published in newspapers and magazines in North America and abroad. She holds a degree in Biology from the University of Oregon and is a passionate birdwatcher, nature lover, and trail blazer.
