The Occupy Earth encampment at the corner of Milton and Hecate in downtown Nanaimo has doubled in size, and is much better provisioned, than when I first visited the camp a few days ago. These little green dudes really know how to mount an occupation!
They now have their own day-care for their hatchlings…
as well as a nicely organized station for disposing of sour space milk and obtaining fresh…
The kitchen is rockin’…
And as you can see below, through some miracle of alien technology, they already have a burgeoning garden of organic kale going (a delicacy among their kind), despite the fact that this occupation began a mere 10 days ago on Halloween night…
So far, the City has not attempted to evict these diminutive occupiers or their sustainable organic garden, unlike some municipal councils which shall go unmentioned. (Lantzville meatheads are you listening???)
They have launched their own news service (since we all know how skewed and unreliable the corporate media are)…
And they even have their own Facebook page!
They are making their demands known…
A few of them have even decided to seek political office in our upcoming civic elections in order to change the system from within as well as through extraparliamentary means such as their Occupation . (They have yet to appear at an all candidates meeting.)
In the meantime, the Occupation at Milton and Hecate continues to expand and to keep itself, well… I guess you could say: occupied.
